I can't burn my Double Layer DVD's using DVDFab with VSO Burning Engine. I bought good quality Double Layer DVD's by Verbatim DVD+R DL. The problem is that when the DVDFab records the DVD then ask for a new disk to write it does not want to accept the Double Layer DVD. It only wants to work with single Layer DVD. I have a Double layer dvd reader and writer Drive (Hp DVD Writer 1140i)

Have you checked the DVD Drive Firmware is up to date?
What does the prog & Drive do when you insert the disc? Nothing?

I tried using different speeds. The problem is that when I try to Clone a DVD using DVDFab Platinum 5.2.3.0 the program does not want to accept the new DVD+R DL to write. I bought good quality DVD's Made by Verbatim. My DVD writer is Double layer Compatible (Hp DVD 1140i). I selected the DVD+R R/W Media, I also lowered the speed, I also updated the drive, the writing won't even start the writing process after I enter a new blank Disk to burn. I am not getting any results at all because the writing process won't even start. What is the problem? below is the Log of event. Up until I removed the DVD Movie and entered a new blank Disk to write. Then it rejects the new Double Layer DVD, and says to enter writable media (Wich I have Brand New Disk)

23:54:23: Clone process started
00:05:53: Clone process completed successfully
00:06:49: Burn DVD image (C:\Documents and Settings\owner\My Documents\DVDFab\Temp\Clone\HENRY_POOLE_IS_HERE.iso) started
00:07:38: Task_2 failed! Error=122 Attention !!!! ( at this point in ejects the new DVD+R DL Disk and does not burn it and ask for writable media.)
00:07:39: Process failed!

I am having the same problem. Was running DVDFab v5.2.2.0 Upgraded to v5.2.3, Upgraded latest CD/DVD firmware. Trying to burn from folder to Memorex DVD+R DL. No success!

Task_1 failed! Error=100
Process failed.

I have tried different write speeds and tried setting the booktype to DVD-ROM as mentioned on other posts.

Other Info:
Vista Ultimate 64-bit
HP m8430f
Optiarc DVD RW AD-7201S5 (16X DVD(±)R/RW 12X RAM (±)R DL LightScribe SATA drive )

I see you have an HP 1140i(22X). I have a 1040i (20X). I have had mine about two years and have had problems burning on occasion. Firmware was EH23. For what its worth HP doesn't have firmware upgrades. My unit is really a liteon LH20A1H under the skin. Liteon has upgraded firmware for this unit a least 3 times since manufactured date. I tricked unit into thinking it was a liteon and then upgraded firmware from liteon web site. Unit operates much better now. Haven't had any more coasters or burning problems. You might could do the same if you can figure out which Liteon unit you have.
