[Solved] BurnEngine problem

Postby carterbc » Tue Mar 05, 2013 11:53 pm

I have used CopyTo for a long time, and update versions regularly... currently using 5.1.1.2. All of a sudden today I can't burn a DVD, something to do with BurnEngine.exe I believe (I burned a couple DVD's last night). I am using the same burner (and tried other ones) and media that I have always used. Even tried on my other computer which is also registered, with the same problem. As soon as the burn operation starts there is a problem and the process starts finalizing!

Computers #1 and #2 both had CopyTo (5.1.1.2) loaded on them; The burn process would start, then right away start finalizing the disc, without burning the movie.

I uninstalled CopyTo (5.1.1.2) off of computer #1, and installed CopyToDVD (4. 0.3.54).
Compter-1 now burns the DVD’s with no problem.

I opened CopyTo Manager on both computers, to see if I could see any differences in the way the project was loaded. The difference I noticed was computer-1 listed two folders, AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS in the left-pane, and opened the VISEO_TS folder contents in right-hand pane. Computer #2 only listed the VIDEO_TS folder in the left pane (no AUDIO_TS folder), and had the VIDEO_TS folder in the right pane also; I clicked on the VIDEO_TS folder in the left pane and then the contents opened in the right pane. I don’t know if this is the problem or not, just the difference I noticed in the two.

Burn engine log from computer #2 (failed to burn the movie):

Hello,

Yes, this part of the log file seems odd
14:35:41.172 Error No selected files. Can't burn
14:35:41.171 Info File scan complete: 0 files, 1 directories, 0 b.

How do you burn your projects? With a right click on a folder and then you burn?

Or you add files to the manager?

Can you tell me how to reproduce?

Process I use to burn projects:

1. Open VSO Starter
2. Click on Video
3. Click on Burn a DVD Video
4. Two windows open, I’ll call one ‘VSO Project Burning Program’ and the other one ‘Windows Explorer; Select DVD Video index file’. The Windows Explorer window is on top of the burning program, so I start with it... I navigate to my movie folder, double left click on my movie folder (it contains two folders, AUDIO_TS & VIDEO_TS), then I double left click on the VIDEDO_TS folder, then I double left click on the Video_TS IFO file (this action loads my DVD movie project in the VSO Project Burning Program and the ‘Windows Explorer’ window closes).
5. Now (in the VSO Project Burning Program) I load a blank DVD, select the drive to burn with, select the burning speed, and select the ‘Burn’ button.

It looks like that this fix is not working as expected. I have several time had Burn engine problems and disk is finalized without burning. is it possible to download older versions as I didn´t have any problems before.

Sure we can provide a download link for an older version. Do you have an idea on what version was working for you?

Can you please post a recent log file where you have this problem where disk is finalizing but without burning? It would be nice to fix the problem once and for all. We have not had other complaints so it would be good if we could investigate your case.
