In a project created with over 1000 pics and 10 sets, I used the manual chapter naming to just create Chapters for these 10 sets (Automatic Chapters switched off in Settings) NO others. I also added a comment for each set on the Chapter text entry flag in the 1st window. These show correctly in the saved project.

When completed ...

CHAPTER MENU (from Root) Chapter 1 and 2 show thumbnails (Video .. which is ridiculous) .. should be a thumbnail of that entry picture ONLY)

Chapter 3 to 10 just show the same thumbnail videos as Chapter 1 !! All the same cycling together in sync!

So I have first 2 chapters thumbs showing correctly .. the rest no good.

Just to add to confusion .. The Chapters in the result Play correctly using Chapter advance/back.
It's just the Chapter Menu display that's wrong!

You need to correct the Chapter Menu Display to just display the flagged Chapters.
You need to change the Chapter Menu to just display the chapter
thumbs as Still High-Quality Image thumbs ...Larger if possible! NOT Video!

Who is testing this? It's Obvious stuff here! Surely, someone should be seeing these problems!

Cheers

Al.

Hi Claire ...

OK. Is there a template that IS working correctly?
This includes official and un-official templates?

I would like to get finished with 3200 files sitting around!

I say ...

Forget showing video in Photo DVD project chapters. Use larger, better quality thumbs ... 4 or 6 per page.

Thanks ... Al.

Confused

For PhotoDVD, previous versions did not have their error, when at what version was it introduced I do not know. I need to look.

As for unofficial templates I really have no idea as I do not downloaded or used them.

you mean you want a still image not video in menu thumbnails?

And bigger?

Hi

OK. ...

and yes ... if you ask around, I would say that as a project consists of still images, one would wish to see chapter thumbnails as still imags too. This really makes good sense, doesn't it!?

and I think 4 or 6 chapters per page is ideal, as these are going to be watched not just on PC's but on home DVD players/screens.

Rgds ...

Al.

Being also able to place a background image/colour/blind would also be a great way to go, too!

Right ... 3.0.9.4

Just tried .. but not actually converted yet, so will report on conversion/chapter rendering later.

Small thing ... Bug ...

Auto or Manual Chapter setting is not remembered in a saved project, so opening an existing/saved project will change sequence to currently selected chapter settings.

Can load "background image" be added in the tab beneath background colour button?
I would have thought possible, as this is adaptation of CXDVD templates?

Yes automatic chapters are loaded separately than your project. It is not a setting saved with your project. Manual chapters are saved; I have not been able to reproduce your problem.

"Can load "background image" be added in the tab beneath background colour button?

For the menus? No this is not possible and currently will not be added to development list.

OK .. Just a thought. Then it would have been like a DVD title menu.

Can the memory use be reduced a bit?
I have 140Mb of memory usage here .. that's more than I ever saw CXDVD use.

Another thing ...
On AMD3000 spare machine, 1hr 40m project is taking 4hrs 45min at only 9/10 fps ....
Under a new "Action" tab, Priority setting, Minimise to Tray + "Close Program when finished" + "Shutdown PC when finished" entry would be advisable, like CXDVD!?

A.

... Also, when you end a conversion in progress, you should get a confirmation on this .. you don't.

It also seems to hang badly when cancelling.

Claire ...

3.0.9.4 did NOT fix Chapter problems!

My Chapter 2 now shows a still image ok, but the rest (1, & 3 onwards) are motion video and exactly the same thumbnails .. and useless!

Also ... Program window does not "size" itself to the screen correctly for some reason. Have to set every time.

Will try the "other" one now.

Hi ...

Yes .. I am trying now.
I did a short test project .. this produced a working menu with chapters
thumbnailed correctly, although they should really be still images (they are motion) The Chapter Menu thumbs look tiny .. need to be twice the size, ideally.
I will post again once I have tried the 12 manual chapter/1200 slide project I tried with the other versions in this thread.

Rgds .. Al.
