I want AVI output to give me a file to edit with Sony Vegas. (I would prefer mpg output but I don't see that offered.)
Which AVI output choice should I make to get a high quality video file to edit, then burn the edited video with ConvertXtoDVD?

Hi,
If you want to edit (then encode) the converted file, I think the best way to produce your file is to use the muxing profile.
Like no encoding will be processed (only muxing), the process will take few minutes and the original quality will be kept.
If you want an mpeg video file as output (.vob), you can create your own custom profile and select VOB as container in editor.
