Hi all....very much a newby so hoping for help. 2 questions...

1 Yesterday I followed the plot and created my first ever short dvd [what a great lil program!!] BUT today when I tried a second one I cannot get files to add as pictures...they will only add as details thus very difficult to find start and end of segments of trip so as to try setting some chapters.
ps I did try other different files to first effort also.

2 When I tried the changes with b/w or sepia I could not go back if the change was unwanted. How to please.

Thanks for a simple [it seems] program.

Click on icon "View mode" at bottom of Pictures window. (toggle function, thumbnail/detail list)

Click once more on the B&W/Sepia icon. (toggle function, on/off)

Hi people
Thanks for advice re sepia etc..now know how to amend, but, the plot has thickened somewhat.
Yesterday I spent 3.5 hrs trying to sync pics to audio by adjusting the file transition and view times till they matched and the screen advised audio would not be looped or cut. Then used preview and found all worked well. I assumed that segment was complete and proceeded to add more files and another audio track.
As a test I again previewed the work at this point and as the first section finished the audio track began to repeat for 1 to 3 notes prior to new pics appearing and next audio starting. There seems no method to fade or correct this, no matter how much one tries.
I am trying this program on only 70 files, thank goodness, as a test, before starting to compile about 2000 together. I now wonder!!

I am not really sure if there are questions in your last post.

In the edit slide window you can make longer or shorter the transitions

I think you are asking too much of the program .. or any other program!
This would need custom "Chapter" audio, rather than "Project" audio.

The best I think VSO "could" offer would be to be able to select a different Audio Track by placing an entry in the "added files" display at a chapter point (like the caption text you can enter for each Chapter) This would then select one of the different Audio tracks at each chapter (I think limited to three at this time)
It would be up to you to edit the audio with an external editor or by trial and error to achieve your result!

Cheers.

Hi Claire

Good to see a reply was starting to think" no one home"[lol]

I realised that I could alter transitions that's not my meaning. The point I found I couldn't change was related to adding audio files. After much fiddling/editing I had the first audio trk ending with the last pic of the first chapter but as the next pic/or chapter begins the aduio starts to replay the first couple of notes of the first trk before switching to the added second audio trk.

Don't get me wrong,I think it's a beaut lil program and yes it obviously has limitations but some form of selection as per Bags comment or fader effect would be great. There's no provision to enter any 'space' between chapters or selected pics.

Hi Bags

it's obvious your'e much more literate in this subject than I so please add your advice as often as you can , It's a very steep learning curve for me as I'm just starting.

Hi ... No worries

I have helped a bit with changes to last few updates.
When Claire sees this I think she "might" take this idea on board and talk to developers (regarding "Chapter Audio Track selection") I'm not sure this is possible.

Cheers for now.

Not a bad idea Bags. I think that would be the easiest way to impliment this idea. I am not sure that is the direction VSO would like to go with PhotoDVD.

Yes I will discuss this idea.
