| Kudos for the effort to make new templates but I'll say it again, we don't need more templates, we need a template/menu editor so that we can make our own designs. If VSO's coders are too strapped for time, post the specs and I'm sure some industrious soul will put together one. The same happened with batch processing. VSO, for reasons that are totally bewildering to me, fails to see the need for batch capabilities within CXD and so we now have multiple wonderful third-party batch producing programs.

Hey cmsoft,
If VSO offered you all you need to create a Menu Creator, generate your own templates, you would be willing to do a 3rd party (cmsoft) software ?
If you say YES, I will ask VSO if they would be willing to do that !

I'm confused. I really don't need another batcher program. I am currently using CMSoft's BatchXtoDVD and have previously used VTSoftware's XtoDVDbot2, the old ConvertXBatch program and DOS batch files. All work well. What I'd really like to see are the batch capabilities built into ConvertXtoDVD. Until that happens, I'm happy with BatchXtoDVD.

hi
I know you want menu editors but for now we don't have it, everytime we add a new template it requires new functions, and these functions will be used ( LATER ) for the menu editor,
for now, we just added a menu CX2 which has the same look and feel than the old version 2 menu. but it required to develop a lot of new functions like dynamic position and alignment of items , something you will appreciate in any advanced menu editor.
so .. once again, we got the message about the menu editor, but at this time, the things are progressing even if you don't see them directly.

Hi,
Everything is black in the preview window, or on your DVD (Output) ?
Yes, you see nothing on the preview, and I have opened a bug report for that.
I tested the output with PowerDVD and I see the menu.

Hi,
I have a bug report open for that one, as mentioned above.
There was issues with Champetre v1.0.0 and The Film v1.0.0
Wait and get both v1.0.1
Currently on the ßeta if you have access to that, else you will need to be a little patient

| Would it be possible to have a template like what windows movie maker has, where it playsclips of the movie in the background of the menu. Black mirror with video comes close, but i'd love to see clips of the movie in the background and the menu items in simple text on top of it.

the glossy templates have the video playing in the background as well.
For the title menu however, you need to specify what video should play though. The root menu of each files plays the file for which that root menu is for . . .

I'd agree wholeheartedly. Don't waste time creating templates or other 'fluff', I'd rather see the coders spend their time on adding power-features to provide the best quality conversions possible if they have spare time after squashing bugs. I've been waiting for ages for:
1) multipass encoding (for best quality possible, regardless of speed)
2) lancos resize (same reason)
3) audio resampling during PAL<>NTSC conversion to remove PAL speedup of 104% and return audio pitch to proper rate for original Film material.
Without these additional features, ConvertX (IMO) is really not much better than any of the other multitude of programs that do roughly the same thing.
I was hoping the coders would concentrate their efforts on adding these technical features to provide best possible quality conversions rather than adding more and more unnecessary bells and whistles (again IMO).
