Hello everyone,

Welcome to our VSO Forums :!:

VSO Software Officials, and several users are here to help you with all your VSO Software questions (ConvertXtoDVD v3.x.x.x).

The fastest way to come to a solution for your problem is to follow these points/advices/"rules".
Not followed will result in unnecessary delay for you as user.

1st point.
To start with, download, install and read the newest published chm/pdf manual:
chm Manual format
PDF Manual
See in there, how to use / what is possible with the program.
Maybe you did some wrong handling.
Only the things what are possible can be found there. Not listed means not possible.
The manual is 99.9% complete on what/how you can do.

2nd point.
Fill in, your location (country) at your profile. (for a quicker help/result)
-Without this information, we have no clue if you are using the correct system!
-A user from the same location might give/has a direct solution what is related to the location.

3rd point.
Did you use the most recent version of ConvertXtoDVD v3 this one: :?:
Download Version 3.8.0.193
Uninstall the actual installed version with cleanvso (and use nothing else), install latest version 3 (that is if you insist on not using version 4).
Link cleanvso: http://download2.vso-software.fr/CleanVSO.exe

4th point.
SEARCH these forums using the Search Button at the top of each forum page.
(See this link how to work with search: http://forums.vso-software.fr/how-to-se ... t6699.html )
There's a good chance you might be able to solve quickly the issue yourself, after reading some solutions provided to/by other users that had the same issues as you.

5th point.
Visit and search at the VSO Bug Tracking System for pending problems:

http://bugs.vso-software.fr/
Register yourself as this software/program is not part of the VSO-forum. (use same as for forum for easyness)

You may be experiencing a known bug, which there's nothing we can do for now, and/or it might have already been fixed, because you do not have the latest version of the program installed.
(See this link for latest public version: http://www.vso-software.fr/ )

6th point.
If you are still having issues / "problems" with ConvertXtoDVD (after first done the before mentioned "points") like, not converting your files, out of sync issues, burning issues, subtitles issues etc.... then in your post/message, please ALWAYS provide:

- ConvertXtoDVD Conversion Log
- ConvertXtoDVD Burning Log

***** Log Session STOP .... *****
...
...
...
***** Log Session START .... *****

This consists of 1 full session in your log file.

Without those log files, it's just a guessing game that will get us no where...
Without you won't get many replies.

Where can I find my log files ?

http://forums.vso-software.fr/where-can ... -t126.html

Just looking at those log files, several of our "basic questions" will be answered.

Sometimes, we can provide the answer right away, just by looking at your log files.

Posting the "problematic" log file (requested info) will "help" us (replyers), to help you !

QUICK SELF HELP TIPS (burning issues):

TIP 1:
If you are having burning issues, and it takes a long time to burn, check your log file !

If you see this in your log:

10/4/2007 11:22:09 PM info PIO Mode

Then you need to Enable DMA:

http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/device/st ... E-DMA.mspx
http://www.blackmaxpc.com/Guides/Enable_DMA.htm
http://www.onthegosoft.com/dma_setting_nt.htm
http://www.real-knowledge.com/dma.htm

Note (26-10-2009):
There seems to be systems what can not be set to DMA.
This needs to be further investigated.
Don't hang on it if your system does not allow.

TIP 2:
If you are having burning issues:

Please read this quick guide, that talks about DVD Media Quality and burning speed:

http://forums.vso-software.fr/burning-p ... -t123.html

TIP 3:

What burner firmware version is installed in your burner ?

You can find it just by looking in your log file (see examples):

04/10/2007 18:35:35 info New Drive selected : 1:0:0 - _NEC DVD_RW ND-2500A 1.06 [D] (Ide)

10/2/2007 3:30:27 PM info New Drive selected : 0:0:0 - _NEC DVD+-RW ND-6650A 1.23 [D] (Ide)

9/10/2007 7:38:02 PM info New Drive selected : 1:0:0 - TSSTcorp CD/DVDW TS-H552U US06 [E] (Ide)

Burner firmware is responsable for how good it recognizes the in the burner placed media . (finding the matching write strategy in the internal list)
If you use newer type discs as at the moment of your burner got produced, they are probably not be included in the list.
They could get added by installing newer firmware (if the update did contain that).

Here's a real good place to search for burner firmware:
